Job Summary

Job Responsibilities:

Manage payroll tax filings and resolve tax notices from government agencies.

Collaborate with the Tax Filing Shared Services team to handle escalations.

Respond to client and internal team inquiries.

Provide subject matter expertise and client education related to payroll tax and notice resolution.

Research compliance and regulatory issues and deliver timely responses.

Identify areas for process improvement and communicate recommendations to management.

Analyze and resolve payroll tax notices including penalty and interest calculations and abatement requests.

Mentor team members and provide support as needed.

Oversee and manage third-party Tax Filing suppliers to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.

Approve and manage work checklist queues.

Perform variance analysis and escalate issues when necessary.

Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding tax-related issues and solutions.

Meet tight deadlines and apply payroll tax knowledge to drive process improvements.

Requirements:

High School Diploma required.

Minimum 3 years experience in tax filing.

At least 2 years of payroll tax filing experience.

Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables v-lookups macros etc.).

Minimum 2 years experience with tax filing software.

Experience with MasterTax highly preferred.

Experience with ADP SmartCompliance is a plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
