Job Summary

Position Summary

The Cashier is responsible for the receipt and deposit of all college monies.


Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule E4 Grade 5: $34298 - $51793
(Salary within this range is determined by your documented years of full-time related work experience )

Work Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.; Friday 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Answer College incoming calls and connect to appropriate areas.
  2. Answer Business Office incoming calls and emails to assist students with account inquiries including but not limited to balances reinstatements and refunds.
  3. Provide customer service to students receipt student payments and generate receipts.
  4. Apply payments to appropriate accounts in the Colleges accounting systems for student and non-AR accounts.
  5. Balance cash drawer and prepare bank deposits daily.
  6. Generate necessary reports for daily cash receipts consisting of cashier session report deposit slip credit card and settlement report.
  7. Maintain ledger and reconcile monthly returned checks. Place and remove holds on student accounts per Business Office policy.
  8. Prepare invoices or receipt payments for Third Party billings.
  9. Issue vehicle decals and maintain decal log.
  10. Assist business office personnel with clerical duties related to student accounts.
  11. Perform all duties with professionalism.
  12. Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 semester hours of postsecondary education from an accredited institution in clerical or related field is required OR a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years clerical work experience is required.
  2. Experience as a cashier is required.
  3. Ability to utilize Excel or other database software (such as Access) to enter format sort and analyze information and prepare reports is required.
  4. Ability to utilize Word or other word processing tools to prepare and communicate information is required.
NOTE: Applicants will be required to complete a skills assessment test as part of the screening process. Applicants must complete the test no later than Wednesday September 24 2025. No testing for this position will be allowed beyond this deadline date. Failure to complete this testing will deem your application incomplete.   16. Ability to utilize email systems to communicate information.
  17. Conscientious care about how work is done and wanting to do a good job.
