A Day in the Life and the Impact Youll Make:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Automotive EMC Test Engineer to join our growing EMC compliance team in a dynamic new test facility in Plymouth MI. You will perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing on automotive electrical and electronic components to ensure they meet industry and OEM-specific standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 13 years of experience whos eager to work hands-on with advanced EMC test setups and vehicle communication protocols.
What Youll Do:
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating taking responsibility and following established procedures and policies.
- Execute EMC tests on automotive components following OEM and international standards.
- Set up and operate EMC test equipment record data and troubleshoot test issues as they arise.
- Apply standards such as FMC 1278 GMW 3097 ECE Regulation 10 ISO 7637 CISPR 25 and ISO 11452.
- Utilize Nexio software for EMC test automation control and reporting.
- Interface with CAN LIN and other vehicle communication protocols to monitor DUT (Device Under Test) behavior during testing.
- Analyze test results prepare detailed technical reports and communicate findings to engineering teams.
- Support lab maintenance equipment calibration and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Properly collect all test data update all required documentation and assist in report generation.
What Youll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
- 13 years of experience in EMC testing preferably within the automotive sector.
- Hands-on experience with EMC standards including:
- FMC 1278 (Ford)
- GMW 3097 (GM)
- ECE Reg 10
- ISO 7637
- CISPR 25
- ISO 11452
- Experience using Nexio EMC test software.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN LIN and others.
- Comfortable operating lab test equipment (LISNs spectrum analyzers signal generators /anechoic chambers etc.).
- Previous experience at an EMC lab or working with automotive OEMs/Tier 1 suppliers preferred.
- Exposure to CAN LIN or Ethernet automotive communication protocols preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures and test scripting/automation preferred.
- ECE Reg 10 vehicle level testing preferred.
- Strong organizational analytical and documentation skills.
Physical Considerations:
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
- Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as lab activities are scheduled.
- Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion.
- Extended periods of computer-based work; sitting visual.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position is $65700 to $85000 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge skills and experience.
