Job Description
Southern Ionics is seeking a skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team in West Point this role you will coordinate the companys shipping and customer delivery activities managing both company-employed truck drivers and external transportation services. The position offers a competitive salary of $75000 performance bonus commensurate with experience.
Functions
Develop and manage dispatch schedules based on production planning utilizing both company and external drivers as needed.
Interview and screen candidates for truck driver positions ensuring compliance with DOT licensing substance abuse screening and company standards.
Oversee the preparation of bills of lading secure optimal freight rates and manage less-than-truckload shipments.
Conduct spot checks on loading patterns to ensure shipments meet company and customer requirements.
Collaborate with Customer Service to address customer needs and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in computer systems.
High school diploma required; a BS in Supply Chain Logistics or a related field is a plus.
Experience in supervising personnel and knowledge of scheduling or tractor-trailer maintenance preferred.
