Job Description

SoarTechs Contracts department is seeking afull time Contracts Specialist who is interested in helping support the management of our research development and implementation of this exciting technology into everyday operations. The Contracts Specialist will support the full lifecycle of government state and commercial contracts at SoarTech working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements. This role involves managing contracts from proposal through close-out including cost and price analysis negotiations performance monitoring and risk management. The position requires a solid understanding of FAR/DFARS strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to interpret complex contract language. With three or more years of relevant experience the Contracts Specialist will handle non-routine moderately complex contracts requiring independent judgment and problem-solving while working under the guidance of the Director of Contracts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage contracts from proposal through close-out ensuring cost schedule and performance requirements are met in accordance with the contract scope of work.
  • Provide guidance on contract types acquisition strategies and contracting methods including both competitive and sole source procurements.
  • Administer assigned contracts to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions including financial limits deliverable schedules reporting and performance requirements.
  • Advise program teams on contractual rights risks and obligations.
  • Review solicitations Statements of Work and proposal instructions to develop compliance matrices and support proposal efforts.
  • Analyze proposed costs and pricing including supporting proposal evaluations and contract audits.
  • Support post-proposal activities including fact-finding negotiations and award reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract files and data within the companys business systems.
  • Monitor and track deliverables and reporting requirements coordinating with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and government contracting officials serving as a point of contact for contract-related matters.
  • Assist in developing or improving processes policies and procedures related to cradle-to-grave acquisition management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in contracts procurement or government contracting.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR DFARS and related procurement regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to assess and resolve complex contract issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain contract terminology to non-contract personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
