Job Summary

Seasonal Highway Technician 1 (HT1) - Multiple Positions

What You Will Do:

  • Hands-on maintenance of traffic and flagging
  • Highway maintenance and repair work activities (e.g. pothole patching spread berm repair guardrails crack seal litter pick-up drainage vegetation management such as weed eating brush cutting and mowing)
  • Operation of heavy equipment (e.g. dump truck loader) and hand tools (e.g. chainsaw)
  • Perform snow & ice operations

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 6 is currently hiring SEASONAL Highway Technician 1 positions for the Winter Snow & Ice Season. These are Seasonal/Temporary positions NOT to exceed 1000 hours. Based on Operational need you may be required to work Nights Weekends & Holidays & /or be on Call. These positions will not begin employment until October 20 2025.

    District 6 will be holding OPEN INTERVIEWS for Winter Seasonal Positions on the following dates:


  • Wednesday 9/17/25 from 3pm-7pm Delaware HQ 400 E. William Street Delaware OH 43015
  • Wednesday 9/24/25 from 3pm-7pm Frankin Cty 3500 East 5th Ave. Columbus OH 43219
  • Wednesday 10/1/25 from 3pm-7pm Franklin Cty 600 Haughn Road Grove City OH 43123
  • Wednesday 10/8/25 from 3pm-7pm Pickaway Cty 1476 Progress Parkway Circleville OH 43113

  • This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA standards
