Position Summary:
Cerity Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Specialist to join our Portfolio Management Team. As a Data Specialist you will play a crucial role in implementing enterprise reports and data projects centered around client investment portfolios. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and champion data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information systems and data management as well as a knowledge of financial products and investments.
Primary Responsibilities
Data Analysis: Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends patterns and insights that can inform business decisions. Analysis may lean into more investments-oriented topics such as performance measurement and benchmarking asset allocation and portfolio optimization.
Data Cleansing: Assist in cleaning and validating data to ensure its accuracy and reliability for various analytical purposes.
Report Generation: Generate routine reports and ad-hoc analyses for internal stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
Data Documentation: Assist in maintaining comprehensive documentation related to data sources transformations and analyses performed.
Develop Technical Solutions: Identify opportunities for using databases programming automations or AI workflows to drive reporting efficiencies and enhancements.
Collaboration: Collaborate with Investment Research Compliance Wealth Management Operations Technology Business Intelligence and Finance to contribute to data projects
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science math economics accounting finance or related field. Masters degree or relevant advanced designation preferred.
3-5 years of experience in information systems business intelligence data management consulting or a related role. Experience in the financial services industries is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in Excel is expected. Working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus. Experience with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
