Job Description
Kickstart your engineering career with hands-on experience in a dynamic collaborative environment. BETA Group Inc. is seeking motivated candidates for our Summer Internship Transportation Engineering program. As an intern youll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of real-world transportation projects alongside a team of experienced engineers planners and scientists. This is a valuable opportunity to learn from industry leaders and gain practical skills that will support your future in engineering.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Gain valuable hands-on experience to begin building your engineering career
- Apply classroom knowledge to real-world transportation engineering challenges
- Support a variety of active projects across both design and construction phases
- Contribute to project tasks and deliverables while learning new technical skills
- Develop a deeper understanding of the engineering profession through practical experience
- Collaborate with and learn from experienced engineers planners and technical staff
- Take initiative in your learning by asking thoughtful questions and actively engaging with your team
Preferred location is BETAs Lincoln office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations.

Skills Required:
- Enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in engineering or related field
- Understanding of general engineering theory and concepts
- Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e. tablets smart phones laptops etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway sidewalk and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience:
- General working knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD platform
