About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Operations the Road and Spoil Supervisor AHS is responsible for the management of all dumps to ensure safe operating conditions in accordance with Geotechnical Standard Practices and Procedures. The Road and Spoil Supervisor will also manage current and future dynamic locations and road systems within the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS). This position follows a 4x4 days and nights schedule with 12-hour shifts and is subject to change based on operational requirements.
To be successful we require someone with excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills; a motivated self-starter who collaborates well with a team and can build strong relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization. In this role you will:

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Lead all aspects of dumps including personnel equipment and procedures to maintain high safety and efficiency standards with a lens of continual improvement
    • Check dumps visually to ensure monitors are accurately placed and setup; move and setup monitors enter and download information from GeoExplorer and analyze data to advise Senior Supervisor and Pit Supervisor if monitors are past movement criteria
    • Collaborate closely with the AHS Central Controllers and Pit Supervisors to develop and refine surveys to manage load anddump locations and the connected road systems
    • Assess and respond to operating conditions define obstacles and ensure accurate controls are in place to protect people working in the Autonomous Operating Zone (AOZ)
    • Complete audits as required in the AOZ and conventional operation
    • Work with other AHS team members to manage hazards and potential issues for the system

    • Minimum two years of relevant open pit mining experience
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge or exposure to autonomous haulage systems would be an asset
    • Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
$107000 - $132000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
