Assist and Support Students Assist students in developing and sustaining an accelerated educational plan based on individual abilities interests goals and assessment scores. Assist and monitor students progress in the Transitions program to advance program acceptance/readiness and graduation requirements in reading writing and math courses. Assist with connecting students with tutor services. Provide Individualized Academic Support Provide individualized academic support and/or connect students with tutoring resources to help them strengthen core academic and learning skills. Guide students in developing strategies that promote confidence persistence and independent learning across all subject areas. Maintain Records Maintain accurate student records associated with Transitions course progress achievement and completion and tutoring services. Maintain tutor employee records. Maintain the student-tutor tracking program and ensure login by all students using tutoring services. Assist in gathering and interpreting data for department assessment. Assist with semester and annual data/ reports on tutoring services and Transitions Lab. Assist with the Administration of Daily Operations Assist the Director with day-to-day planning and administration of the Tutoring and Transitions Center. This includes recruiting hiring orienting and supervising tutors and work studies managing the centers appointment program ensuring completion of and verifying tutor logs processing weekly tutor web-time entry and maintaining records. Develop/Revise Curriculum and Educational Materials In cooperation with team members develop and/or revise the Transitions program course objectives content such as sample tests and online course material descriptions and instructional strategies. Maintain current textbooks and resources for tutors. Functions as A Member of the Tutoring and Transitions Team Interact with colleagues students and staff in a manner that maximizes a positive and engaging organizational environment by encouraging input reflective and transparent communication and compassion and respect toward the views and ideas of others. Participate in team/ department/ division/ student services/ and college meetings. Assist with Marketing and Promotion of the Tutoring and Transitions Center Assist the Director with the marketing of the program including but not limited to: keeping the website and monitoring information current presenting to classes other programs and college-wide events developing and distributing flyers submitting information to campus publications and other literature for faculty staff students and community. Other Duties As Assigned Additional duties assigned include but are not limited to attending team and campus meetings promoting programs across the college and community working with college advisors admissions counselors and instructors to provide transitions and tutoring support to students in need; assisting with semester and annual statistical reports; assisting the Director of Transitions and Tutoring with tutor training marketing and other requests. Promote a Culture of Belonging Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students faculty members and college employees feel welcomed valued and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the Colleges policies and programming related to access fair employment and equal opportunities for all.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education or related field. Two (2) years of work experience providing support in a college environment social/human services education marketing or similar occupations where the ability to work with people is important.
