Directs and coordinates activities of the fintube department by performing the following duties.
What you will be responsible for:
- Ability to interpret drawings / blueprint; interprets specifications blueprints and job orders to employees and assigns duties.
- Manage and control manpower including attendance in the responsible area to secure line capacity and to meet delivery schedule.
- Conduct safety bi-weekly meeting (Toolbox) to build safety awareness in the work place with zero injury target.
- Reinforce safety policy and rules including identify potential hazards in the work area and reduce or eliminate them.
- Able to document data and write clear reports (production rework quality line stop etc.)
- Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates provided by management; manage multiple projects and people to ensure that they are on time and under budget; prioritize tasks in a self-directed and time-managed manner.
- Organizational development within the department.
- Monitor quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan.
- Estimate requisition and inspect materials.
- Examine items produced to determine if items meet specifications; establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product; suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop department or work crew.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Regular attendance ability to arrive at work punctually ability to work onsite ability to work overtime.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others ability to deal respectfully with the public customers vendors other employees managers and executive management.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently ability to work in a fast-paced environment ability to interchange with others in the department.
- Must be able to provide supervision and working on units 80% of time.
- Routine trouble shooting and problem solving including finding ways of improvement for long-term solution.
- Encourage continuous idea generation from team members for continuous process improvement in cost time and safety.
- Ensure 5S (workplace organization method in the area with good housekeeping manner) is being applied on a daily basis.
- Ensure all equipment is up to date and within the standards needed.
- Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates provided by management.
- Strong attention to detail organization skill and communication skill.
- Prioritize tasks in a self-directed and time-managed manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to directly supervise up to 10 to 20 non-exempt employees.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion Inc. Thermal Solutions policies procedures and applicable laws
- Must demonstrate and exhibit professional qualities when speaking with employees whether in a one-on-one scenario or a group setting.
- Responsibilities as assigned by the Department Manager will include planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge skills and abilities)
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel data formats and the tools available to share data across software programs
- Understanding of office network environments e-mail and internet
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to manage and lead the department.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to read and interpret drawing manufacturing work instructions and other company documents such as safety procedures operating and maintenance instructions and other procedure manuals in English.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Use advanced shop mathematics and a variety of precision measuring instruments
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Work from standard process plans blueprints tool write-ups sketches illustrations and verbal information to perform assembly of mechanical operations and work involves intricate mechanical installations close tolerances and fitting and adjusting of parts and assemblies to perform precise location and positioning.
- Performs initial assembly of parts in minor assembly and sub-assembly tools to ascertain location fit and clearance of parts in tools and to prove methods and sequence of work operations etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum 3 years in manufacturing environment required.
