Production Supervisor - Converting
Location: Lake in the Hills IL
Compensation: $65000-$75000 annual
We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our Converting department. This role is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations ensuring high-quality production standards training staff improving operational efficiency and promoting a safe team-oriented work environment. This is a key leadership position where youll oversee all converting operations across all shifts managing both people and processes to ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently met.
What Youll Do
- Supervise train and develop Converting department staff across all shifts.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies quality standards and production requirements.
- Oversee setup operation and maintenance of converting machinery.
- Manage inventory accuracy and material placement within the department.
- Develop and implement operating policies and procedures.
- Identify and execute cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
- Conduct regular safety audits and engage employees in hazard prevention and education.
- Plan and coordinate daily production workflows to meet deadlines and minimize labor costs.
- Collaborate with other shift supervisors and departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Support customer returns by inspecting and processing returned materials.
- Partner with HR for hiring training performance reviews and corrective actions.
- Document work instructions and ensure team adherence to SOPs and ERP transaction accuracy.
- Support and enforce company policies culture and core values.
- Lead departmental budget adherence including managing overtime and staffing needs.
What Youll Bring
- Bachelors degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- 12 years of supervisory or manufacturing experience required.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and ERP systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery.
