Job Summary

A Backup Administrator ensures data is securely backed up and can be restored managing backup systems troubleshooting issues and maintaining reliable data protection across servers and storage.

Technical Skills:

Veritas NetBackup: Master Server Media Server Data Domain (DD9300 DD9400 DD6900) NBU Media Appliance
Tape Library: TS4300
Azure Recovery Services Vaults: Azure Portal
SAN Switches: IBM 48-Port & 24-Port Switches

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support Veritas NetBackup Data Domain Azure Recovery services and SAN switches.
Administer backup environments across Unix Linux and Windows servers.
Troubleshoot and resolve backup tape and storage issues.
Build and deploy backup infrastructure and repositories.
Ensure backup service reliability and simplicity for customers.
Handle critical backup infrastructure issues and work with vendors for service level maintenance.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide peer support and coaching.
Produce operational reports and manage backup systems at scale.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Veritas NetBackup 10.X.X Data Domain and Azure Recovery Services Vaults.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage complex technical issues.
Knowledge of backup products (command line and GUI).
Familiarity with change management and incident management processes.
Client engagement and report development experience.
