Job Description
A Backup Administrator ensures data is securely backed up and can be restored managing backup systems troubleshooting issues and maintaining reliable data protection across servers and storage.
Technical Skills:
- Veritas NetBackup: Master Server Media Server Data Domain (DD9300 DD9400 DD6900) NBU Media Appliance
- Tape Library: TS4300
- Azure Recovery Services Vaults: Azure Portal
- SAN Switches: IBM 48-Port & 24-Port Switches
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Veritas NetBackup Data Domain Azure Recovery services and SAN switches.
- Administer backup environments across Unix Linux and Windows servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backup tape and storage issues.
- Build and deploy backup infrastructure and repositories.
- Ensure backup service reliability and simplicity for customers.
- Handle critical backup infrastructure issues and work with vendors for service level maintenance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide peer support and coaching.
- Produce operational reports and manage backup systems at scale.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Veritas NetBackup 10.X.X Data Domain and Azure Recovery Services Vaults.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of backup products (command line and GUI).
- Familiarity with change management and incident management processes.
- Client engagement and report development experience.
