Job Description
Position: IT Network Engineer
Location: Belgrade Serbia
Employment type: Full-time
Remuneration: Base salary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first-level support for network-related incidents and service requests. Perform basic troubleshooting and support for network hardware including switches routers and access points from various vendors.
- Continuously monitor network health performance and security using industry-standard monitoring tools. Respond promptly to alerts and take corrective actions as needed.
- Assist with the setup configuration and maintenance of wireless networks. Troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure stable and secure wireless access.
- Review system and network logs to diagnose and resolve issues. Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of incidents.
- Support routine network-related tasks on Windows and Linux platforms such as DNS DHCP and basic connectivity troubleshooting.
- Follow established security policies and procedures. Assist in applying access controls and other compliance-related tasks under guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents configurations changes and troubleshooting processes. Help keep network diagrams and technical documentation up to date.
- Work collaboratively with network engineers IT staff and security teams to resolve issues and maintain operational stability in a 24/7 environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Native or fluent in English (C1 level) with strong proficiency in both written and spoken communication.
- 13 years of experience in IT support network operations or a similar technical support role.
- Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with common network hardware (e.g. switches routers firewalls).
- Basic knowledge of wireless networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPN).
- Ability to interpret logs and use diagnostic tools to resolve issues.
- Basic understanding of Windows and Linux networking environments.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring platforms such as PRTG Zabbix or Grafana.
- Experience with additional tools (e.g. Wireshark Nagios) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure and in rotational shifts including nights and weekends.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA CompTIA Network or similar.
- Exposure to cloud or virtualized networking environments.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (Python Bash PowerShell).
