Private Equity Asia (PE Asia) focuses on private equity investments in the Asia-Pacific region through funds and direct equity co-investments.
For funds we seek multi-year commitments to pan-Asia and region-focused funds in China Japan Australia South Korea India and Southeast Asia. We partner primarily with funds of US$250 million or larger that seek minimum commitments of US$25 million.
For direct equity co-investments we seek to invest alongside Asia-based private equity sponsors in privately owned businesses. We generally target investments of US$25-50 million in buyout or growth equity transactions. We invest in businesses in Asia or with an Asia-centric presence or growth angle.
The PE Asia team is based in Hong Kong and is currently comprised of eight investment professionals. The team currently manages a portfolio in excess of US$4 billion and deploys over US$1 billion a year in new investments.

Job description
The Investment Intern will be principally responsible for supporting the investment team in managing and monitoring the existing investment portfolio. The Investment Intern will also be responsible for supporting other aspects of the investment process including due diligence on potential investments.
Position Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing periodic investment reviews on existing investments
Assist with ad hoc portfolio-related analytical projects and reporting initiatives
Assist with due diligence on fund partners across various geographies and fund strategies
Assist with due diligence on prospective equity co-investments including reviewing historical financial performance industry dynamics and competitive analysis valuation analysis and financial modelling
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate or graduate students with a major in finance economics or business administration
Candidates should have a demonstrated passion for investing and interest in private market transactions
Strong English language verbal and written communications skills are required
Strong proficiency with Excel
Team player capable of working with various internal and external teams in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision demonstrating a high degree of initiative judgement and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior internship or academic experience in private equity investment banking or asset management
Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques
Knowledge of the Asia-Pacific private equity landscape
