Job Summary

Role Overview

Client is seeking an Intermediate IBM MQ Administrator to join its infrastructure team. This role requires strong WebSphere MQ expertise and hands-on automation skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills who can quickly take ownership of projects and contribute to enterprise messaging solutions across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

Configure maintain and troubleshoot IBM MQ in distributed and clustered environments.
Manage high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) setups for queue managers.
Implement advanced security practices including SSL/TLS encryption OAM policies and LDAP integration.
Tune performance for optimal throughput and low latency.
Automate monitoring and maintenance using scripting languages (Python Bash PowerShell).
Diagnose and resolve complex messaging issues including dead-letter queues and performance bottlenecks.
Support application teams using JMS and REST APIs with IBM MQ.
Monitor queue health using tools such as IBM MQ Explorer Prometheus Splunk or Nagios.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience with IBM WebSphere MQ (administration and troubleshooting).
Proven experience in HA clustering and DR configurations.
Solid knowledge of security integration (SSL/TLS OAM LDAP).
Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python Bash or PowerShell).
Experience with performance tuning in MQ environments.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (MQ Explorer Prometheus Splunk Nagios).
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
