The core mission of this role is to act as the central bridge between business strategy and technical execution for a critical product portfolio. You will guide complex product development from concept to launch optimizing the entire product lifecycle to deliver user-centric solutions. A top performer in this role will move beyond day-to-day backlog management to shape the product vision elevate team performance and ensure that every feature delivered creates measurable value for both the customer and the business.

Performance Objectives for Year One

Strategic Roadmap Development: Within the first 6 months take ownership of the product vision by developing and launching a comprehensive product roadmap for a key payments or lending portfolio. Success in this objective involves securing full alignment and buy-in from all major business IT and executive stakeholders.
Backlog & Prioritization Overhaul: Lead the initiative to transform the product backlog into a strategic tool. Within the first year implement a value-based prioritization framework that clearly links development sprints to overarching business objectives ensuring resources are focused on the highest-impact initiatives.
BA Team Leadership & Elevation: Elevate the performance and output of the Business Analyst team through targeted coaching leadership and mentorship. Success will be measured by a tangible improvement in the quality of user stories clearer requirements delivered to IT and a significant reduction in development rework.
Execute a Major Feature Launch: Successfully manage the end-to-end launch of at least one major new product feature or enhancement. This includes navigating cross-functional dependencies proactively mitigating risks and being accountable for an on-time high-quality delivery that meets all business acceptance criteria.

Profile for Success

Demonstrated track record of taking complex software products from conception through to successful market launch in a comparable fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in a significant leadership role with the ability to coach mentor and develop a team of business analysts or product owners.
Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies with a history of managing and prioritizing complex product backlogs to drive business value.
Exceptional ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across business and technical teams transforming high-level vision into actionable goals.
Minimum Requirements: A relevant Diploma or Degree in IT or Business Administration a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role and 5 years of dedicated experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager. A Certified Product Owner (CPO) qualification is highly beneficial.
