Join us to expand the capabilities of advanced nuclear engineering tools at the National Laboratories. This internship involves creating and validating polygonal and polyhedral meshes to enhance MOOSEs simulation accuracy and flexibility. Youll gain hands-on experience in nuclear simulations working with cutting-edge modeling techniques. Reporting to the Computational Frameworks group. This team works a 9x80 schedule and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.

Minimum Requirements:

Undergraduate degree seeking Masters degree seeking student enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Nuclear Engineering Computer Science or related
Experience or coursework with programing languages such as C and C
Experience or coursework with modeling and simulation methods such as Nonlinear Differential Equations Parallel Computing or Multiphysics
A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

Undergraduate Internships ($26.16/hour - $31.47/hour)
Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($32.87/hour - $35.26/hour)
PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($35.95/hour - $38.41/hour)
Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
