Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria Virginia and Orlando Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning design infrastructure management technical consulting engineering and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army Air Force Navy Marine Corps) missions along with other US federal agencies all over the world.
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering functions at Creech Air Force Base (CAFB). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering structural engineering services for the planning design renovation maintenance and construction of real property facilities and utility systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct facility inspections to identify deficiencies and support infrastructure maintenance planning.
- Prepare structural designs layouts specifications and engineering documentation (e.g. SOWs SOOs IGCEs).
- Review A&E and in-house designs for maintainability compatibility and structural soundness.
- Manage and monitor construction projects from planning through completion including site surveys and as-built reviews.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines architects utility providers and stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Oversee contractor compliance with contract specifications timelines and safety/environmental standards.
- Support technical reviews of construction proposals change orders and cost estimates.
- Use design and project management software (CADD estimating tools tracking systems) to execute and monitor work.
- Stay updated on structural engineering technologies and best practices.
- Occasionally assist in base development planning programming and economic analysis for various facility projects.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum6 years of project management or design experience with a U.S.-based firm within the last 10 years
- Knowledge of U.S. building codes safety and environmental regulations
- Must be willing to complete required AFIT courses (WMGT 322 WMGT 422 WENG 200 WENG 400) unless already certified.
