Employment Coordinators are responsible forplanning preparing and helping to securejobs for adults who live with mental health impairments and are working towards their recovery utilizing the Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) evidence-based practice. BACS staff prides itself on doing whatever it takes.
Locations: Oakland based; This is a community-based position and extensive travel throughout Alameda County is required.
Shift: Monday - Friday Day Shift
Employment Coodinator Responsibilities
- Assess plan coach and advocate foremployment program members to find competitive jobs.
- Manage a caseload of 20 program members in their employment search.
- Support the general wellness and recovery plan for participants.
- Marketadvertise and collaborate with employers and potential employers Department of Rehabilitation representatives and other team members.
- Document and maintain all data collection reporting and charting records. Stay within required number of regulatory billable units per month (65% productivity).
- Participate in supervision staff meetings clinical consultation on-call coverage travel crisis/emergency coverage weekend coverage and agency-wide meetings and training.
Mental Health Team Member role
- Collaborate and Coordinate as a member of a multidiciplinary Mental Health Treatment Team to meet IPS goals.
- Participate in and facilitate TDM (Team Decision Meetings)
- For FSP programs must attend daily ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) meetings
- Responsible for managing both IPS and medi-cal service documentation
- Embody Whatever it takes philosophy of care in service delivery.
Employment Coordinator Qualifications
- High School Diploma required and must have 4 years of paid work experience in mental health/social services (1 year of customer services may be substituted). Degree is preferred.
- One year of experience in recruitment marketing and/or business to business strategy preferred.
- Two years experience in employment services for adults with mental illness preferred.
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel ability to type 45WPM.
- Valid California drivers license personal vehicle and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage are required. DMV printout required.
- Extensive local travel is required vehicle reimbursement is provided. Care Coordinators/Employment Counselors transport clients in their personal vehicle.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting at $27.00 per hour then $30.00 per hour after satisfactory performance and achievement of all job related goals and requirements for the 90 day introductoty period.
- Fully paid medical dental vision and life insurance coverage for employees and children.
- 32 days off (PTO/Holiday) increasing with tenure includes your birthday off.
- 3% per hour salary differential for threshold language fluency in Alameda county ( Chinese Cantonese Spanish Vietnamese Mandarin Farsi Cambodian and Tagalog)
- 403b with BACS matching contribution after one year of service.
- After 1 year of service - $3000 per year student loan debt payment tuition or continuing ed costs. Up to $15000 over 5 years.
- One month PAID sabbatical after 4 Years not charging PTO.
