DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant should have a strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling dynamic environment. The Senior Accountant interacts effectively with cross functional teams such as Finance Merchandising Distribution Center AP and IT. This person seeks professional development and can quickly understand broad objectives work independently to achieve those objectives and take the initiative to identify and implement process improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage inventory accounting processes including transfers (DC-Store Store-Store) cost adjustments damages scanned at stores donations and freight matching (domestic/import).
Support quarterly and annual inventory counts researching variances with LP stores and DC teams.
Calculate Sales Return Reserve on a quarterly basis and lookbacks for Audit.
Calculate and validate LOCM reserve on a monthly basis.
Calculate monthly accrual of partnership royalties based on minimum obligations and retail sales as well as prepare the quarterly payment approvals for management.
Calculate and validate the inventory in-transit balances on a weekly and monthly basis.
Prepare and reconcile inventory-related journal entries accruals reserves and balance sheet accounts.
Partner with DC merchandising and marketing teams on new store inventory sourcing activity and SKU changes.
Support audits by providing schedules reserves lookbacks and required documentation.
Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) system changes reclass projects and periodic/annual memo updates.
Ensure accuracy compliance and SOX documentation across inventory and accounting processes.
Research and respond to inquiries on costs variances and financial data accuracy.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support a timely and disciplined month-end and quarter-end close.
Research and respond to inquiries regarding costs and/or budget variances.
Provide timely ad hoc reporting updates and accounting information to internal stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
5 years of general ledger month-end close and reconciliation experience in an ERP environment (SAP Preferred).
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments.
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Self-motivated results-oriented and committed to supporting the companys growth and success.
