We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Corporate Services IT Service Delivery Team. As a Senior GIS Coordinator this role will play a key role in shaping smarter decisions across the organisation. This role will take overall ownership and management of Councils GIS systems and associated data sets and mapping layers. Guiding and supporting Councils service delivery teams to determine investment priorities capital works manage customer requests analyse and gain insights into GIS Data and delivering quality services to the community.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Overall management and ownership of GIS systems and services
Coordinate GIS tasks team support and staff training
Contribute to IT and organisational strategy relating to GIS and integrated systems
Provide expert advice on GIS to maximise business benefits
Deliver GIS solutions (design development customisation data analysis project management)
Develop procedures and documentation for acquiring maintaining and governing spatial data
Ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards
Engage with stakeholders to align GIS solutions with business needs
Manage software maintenance upgrades procurement and vendor liaison
The successful applicant will have:
Tertiary qualification in GIS geography computer science environmental science or related field (or equivalent certification)
Proven experience coordinating GIS projects
Strong knowledge of GIS software systems (installation configuration troubleshooting)
Minimum 5 years experience as a GIS administrator (system management spatial databases software configuration troubleshooting data integrity & security)
