The Intern program provides highly motivated and qualified students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience receive valuable on-the-job training and heighten business knowledge. Intern Students will collaborate side by side with BTS employees in a variety of positions to complete challenging projects. Students will interact with all levels of management and senior leaders and gain insight into business and technology in the insurance industry.

Joining the Command Center team at Berkley Technology Services (BTS) as an Intern will offer you direct exposure to a wide variety of technologies upon which our business relies. On our team youll be paired with Senior Engineers Team Leads and a Manager committed to ensuring youre exposed to technical areas youre interested in and others you may not have yet had exposure to. There are no silos at BTS; youll have opportunities to take on hands-on tasks that span Network Support VoIP Monitoring Tier 1/2 Triage and workflow automation. Always committed to ensuring minimal to no business interruption we collaborate with each other and peer engineering teams to incorporate and support current technologies in complex and innovative ways.

In this role youll:

• Gain exposure to Network Operations and support
• Troubleshoot and resolve network related incidents if/as they arise including providing updates to related documentation
• Monitor network alerts and partner with Senior Engineers to resolve issues and/or develop new alerts
• Participate in firm-wide projects with BTS Information Security team such as enhancing security for network validation solutions identity service management intrusion / virus detection and more

• At least two years of college or university coursework completed; preference is for some or a majority of that to relate to a technical discipline
• Prior related co-op internship and/or on or off-campus technical experience preferred but not required
• Some exposure to networking and security technologies including any/all of the following: routers switches access points firewalls monitoring solutions etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Prior exposure to scripting (Python PowerShell Shell etc.) preferred
• Experience with ticketing and monitoring solutions like Service Now SolarWinds and Splunk is a plus
• Demonstrated passion for technology and for learning and exploring unfamiliar technologies
• The Command Center operates 24/7/365; we have a variety of shifts open and have flexible working schedules for days nights weekends etc.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Computer Science Data Science Engineering or a related field.
