This identified opportunity is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants. Were looking for a motivated and community-minded individual to join our Environmental Health team as an Aboriginal Cadet Environmental Health Officer.
In this role youll gain hands-on experience and develop the skills needed to become a qualified Environmental Health Officer; all while studying and earning a wage. Its a unique chance to work on Country support your communitys wellbeing and grow professionally with strong guidance and support from our experienced Environmental Health team.

In this cadetship youll be actively involved in all aspects of environmental and public health work. Youll be learning on the job while contributing to vital services that protect the health and safety of our community.

What Youll Bring
Were looking for an enthusiastic and community-minded person who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. This is a cadet role so no previous experience is required just a genuine interest in health science or the environment along with the motivation to learn and grow. Youll need to be a good communicator a reliable team player and someone whos organised and comfortable working both indoors and out in the field. Most importantly you must be eligible for and committed to completing a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University. Your university studies will take place over a 6-year period with ongoing support and guidance throughout your journey.

Salary: The salary for this cadetship ranges from approximately $31288 to $53196 p.a. in accordance with theLocal Government (State) Award. Your salary will be determined based on your age qualifications and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional.
Location:This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
