Prime Air is seeking an experienced Software Engineer who combines superb technical research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. Were looking for someone who innovates and loves solving hard problems. You will work hard have fun and of course make history!
The ideal candidate will have experience in autonomy for robotics/aerospace applications system design for safety-critical software and working with a wide variety of stakeholders across the technical spectrum.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazons ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf
Key job responsibilities
1. Design develop implement test and document embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services.
2. Translate functional requirements into robust efficient supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.
3. Participate in the full development cycle end-to-end from design implementation and testing to documentation delivery and maintenance.
4. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
5. Mentor junior development engineers.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
