Thalle is currently seeking experienced and motivated candidates to fill multiple Heavy Equipment Operator positions at heavy civil project located in Charlottesville VA.

We are seeking:

• Bulldozer Operators
• Excavator Operators

Additionally:

• MUST be skilled in pipe or pipe grading

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator (Bulldozer or Excavator and skilled in pipe and/or pipe grading REQUIRED)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various types and sizes of power construction equipment to excavate move dirt and grade jobsite.
• Follow all company safety policies including taking specific action to avoid other workers equipment potential obstructions.
• Operate equipment in an efficient manner and follow instructions of on-site management.
• Follow all equipment monitoring and maintenance requirements.
• Move and/or load material utilizing dozers and excavators.
• Must be capable and willing to maintain/grease equipment.
• Must be willing to complete manual labor when not operating equipment.
• Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• OSHA 10 Certificate required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years construction experience.
• Ability to receive written or oral instructions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationship with office and field personnel.
• Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety looking out for yourself and others

Physical Requirements:

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials.
• Work long shifts with non-standard break times
• Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination quick reaction times.
• Able to work in confined or enclosed spaces
• Able to sit for long periods of time.
• Able to wear a hard hat safety glasses gloves and safety-toed boots.
• Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more)
• Able to Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground.
• Able to sit in the operators seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals switches levers buttons etc. required to safely operate the equipment (if authorized for that piece of equipment).
• Capable of sitting in the operators seat of equipment and have an adequate field of vision of all instruments gauges warning lights as well as an acceptable field of vision out of the windows and/or mirrors (if authorized for that piece of equipment).
• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards.
• Must be able to talk listen and speak clearly on telephone.
