The Project Sales Representative role at a glance:

To drive and grow project business revenue as well as build and capitalize on relationships with all relevant stakeholders in the market. To develop a deep understanding of the hospitality industry in order to qualify pursue and win projects. This person should have the ability to define and maintain focus appreciate the project sales process and adapt critical thinking. Excellent team player with hands-on personality and a desire to win both in defined markets and within a global perspective.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive and grow project business revenue in defined markets with focus on defined products including but not limited to architectural hardware electronic access control sliding hardware furniture hardware and LED lighting
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all stakeholders in the market with focus on generating project sales including hotel chains investors/owners management companies Contract Hardware Dealers (CHDs) door manufacturers general contractors purchasing companies architects and strategic sales partners
  • Participate in the execution of project tactics to win qualified projects
  • Create the initial project scope define project requirements in terms of products and services including quote stage
  • Support the project manager with on-site project management functions and after-sales service

FURTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a detailed sales and support plan for the area
  • Drive the identification research and qualification of projects establish a strategy to win qualified projects based on the Hfele Involved Parties Model
  • Travel daily within the area to visit customers and other stakeholders to obtain specification and quotation opportunities and win the qualified projects
  • Work with Project Manager and Inside Sales and Support to define the project scope prepare quotations and orders; participate in project planning and coordination of clarification of technical details as well as take-offs; preparation of hardware lists as base for order processing
  • Collaborate to ensure successful planning execution and implementation of all projects in the defined area serve as link of communication between customers and internal team
  • Provide expert and specialized technical and field support; coordinate and supervise pre-assembly installation commissioning installation creation of locking plans and door lists functionality testing staff training and handover; follow local law and codes
  • Ensure timely and complete entry as well as up-date of data in the project database One CRM
  • Actively track all projects and follow through with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in identifying securing establishing training managing and regularly visiting strategic sales and installation partners in the area
  • Provide direct and indirect customer service for Dialock resellers strategic partners and hotel customers in the area
  • Coordinate review and solve complaints provide interims solutions support strategic sales partners in the area in order to maintain a trustful relationship with all stakeholders
  • Attend and participate in major tradeshows of the industry and in small regional shows including staffing pre and post show activities attending and giving conference lectures and attending show related functions
  • Assess and join trade associations and become an active member with a focus on the local chapters
  • Work closely with marketing and product development to identify new product opportunities new market requirements and provide relevant market information to support modifications to existing products
  • Budget and turnover responsibility for assigned customers in the area; sales goals for each account including any required marketing or product management investments sales revenue and gross profit expectations
  • Maintain a home office to conduct business exclusively for Hafele America Company
  • Act as brand ambassador for Hafele Project Business
  • Further duties may be assigned


Physical Demands

Physical demands of the position include travel to the customers place of business use of hands to demonstrate products good verbal skills and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree and/or at least four years related experience and/or training
  • At least 2 years of related sales experience
  • Negotiation skills required
  • Product knowledge about architectural and/or furniture hardware and/or access control and/or LED lighting preferred
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus
  • Experience with and understanding of the hospitality industry the respective stakeholders and construction project process preferred
