There are multiple Skill Builder positions available in our growing program! Being a skill builder is a great opportunity for anyone passionate about helping others and interested in starting a career in Human Services especially working with kids and families. Sill Builders provide individualized mental health support services to children and youth (ages 021) with emotional or behavioral challenges. Services are delivered in the community such as in the home school or other natural settings to help youth and families build skills manage symptoms and function successfully in their daily lives. Monthly productivity incentive provided for qualifying providers.
Responsibilities
- Support the child/youth in developing and applying functional skills within their natural environment.
- Foster the growth of age-appropriate skills that enhance personal development and community engagement.
- Enhance the child/youths social and interpersonal abilities through targeted interventions.
- Deliver services in both individual and group settings throughout the community.
- Engage with the child/youth across various environments including their home school workplace social settings and the agencys facility.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services in compliance with Medicaid billing requirements and agency policies.
- Coordinate with other service providers involved in the child/youths treatment plan to support ongoing care and planning.
- Apply culturally competent and trauma-informed practices in all aspects of service delivery.
- Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the assigned supervisor for guidance and professional development.
Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma GED or Technical school is required.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children or youth
- Must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable private transportation that meets Salvation Army insurance requirements
