To support the EHS Department with any/ all environmental permit(s) and certification(s) needs. To ensure the health and safety for all company employees and contractors. To support the implementation and management of new and/or current processes/ procedures. To ensure compliance with OSHA Cal/OSHA and all applicable local state and federal regulatory requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control eliminate and prevent disease and injury by conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments.
- Support safety policies training programs and materials tracks training requirements and certifications.
- Maintains all safety records including training accident and near-miss investigations OSHA logs permits checklists safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation and acts as liaison with government agencies.
- Support the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills.
- Conducts new-hire employee safety orientation.
- Additional tasks duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Additional Duties as assigned.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- 1-2 years general Safety experience in a manufacturing environment AND Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety Industrial Hygiene or similar
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Strong Analytical and Organizational skills.
- Must be able to read understand and interpret federal state and local regulations Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) and other complex documents.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word Excel & PowerPoint
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety Industrial Hygiene similar discipline OR 2-3 years of general Safety experience in a manufacturing environment
