Job Summary

AGENCY DESCRIPTION

Instituto Familiar de la Raza Inc. is a multi-service community health and social service agency with emphasis in serving the Chicano/Latino community in San Francisco with a special focus on the diverse needs of the Mission District. Services include a wide range of mental health HIV related services and social services including advocacy early intervention psychotherapy psychiatric care and case management for adults youths children and families.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Chicano/Latino Family Resource system (FRS) is a collaborative project of four community agencies. The projects purpose is to combine the efforts and staff of the collaborating agencies to develop prevention early intervention and intensive case management programs and services which reinforce family preservation with high risk families residing in the Mission District and Chicano/Latino families throughout San Francisco. The Differential Response (DR) program within FRS works with fifteen partnered community agencies throughout San Francisco and with the Human Services Agency (HSA) to provide services to families referred to CPS and in need of additional support to prevent out of home placement and re-referrals. This position supervises the DR administrative assistances.

Essential Job Duties include but are not limited to the following;

  • Acts as a liaison between the partner agencies and HSA in the ongoing implementation and evaluation of program procedures
  • Triages and assigns DR and Safe Care referrals received from HAS to partner agencies citywide
  • Manages and coordinates reports for the collaborative including monthly and quarterly progress reports
  • Conducts quarterly quality assurance reviews of partner agencies
  • Provides consultation to DR Liaisons citywide and HSA staff
  • Maintains communication with HSA staff regarding referrals received
  • Facilitates semi-monthly DR Liaison meetings
  • Identifies and coordinates trainings for the DR Liaisons
  • Manages and tracks information from multiple sources including data entry queries regarding referrals and providing aggregated data for reports. Triages and assigns DR referrals received from HSA to partner agencies citywide
  • Organizes annual Parents Voices event prepares and disseminates program evaluation report to CBOs and HSA staff
  • Performs other related duties as required

Required Skills

  • Minimum of three years experience providing social services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel Access Word and Power Point and utilizing email communication
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to issues of diversity including that of gender race language sexual orientation and socio-economic status
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively under high stress situations; demonstrated diplomacy and sensitivity with clients under stress

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Experience in a non-profit community agency
  • Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Public Administration or related field (license eligible supervision provided)
  • Knowledge and experience with the San Francisco FRC initiative

EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

Bachelors of Art degree in Social Work or related field

Must pass and maintain annual Tuberculosis Test

Must pass Department of Justice Fingerprint screening

Complete annual recurrent on-line training

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary range $45000 - $50000 annually depending on qualifications and experience. This is considered a full time -exempt position with benefits.

All full time positions at IFR are 35 hours per week and are eligible to participate in benefit medical health plans including dental vision 403(b) plan earn vacation sick leave paid holidays and on-going opportunities for learning.
