Other Conditions:
This position will support the operations of the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene (SONDH) Clinical Placement Office at one or multiple UH campus locations and is expected to begin approximately September 2025 or as mutually acceptable. Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration Human Resources Social Sciences Nursing and 3 year(s) of progressively
    responsible professional experience with responsibilities for student placements clinical placement and/or staffing requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of coordination of student placements clinical placement
    processes staffing management and/or program administration as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard
    and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
  3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated
    with coordination of student placements clinical placement processes staffing management and/or program administration.
  4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the
    cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and
    other materials.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
    If applicable for supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee
    relations.
  8. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to learn new operating systems quickly.
  9. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with faculty staff students clinical agency personnel and other
    individuals / external groups.
  10. Demonstrated ability to effectively participate and collaborate as a member of a team.
  11. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement problem-solving and communications skills with a high standard of customer service when
    responding to complex and demanding situations inquiries or complaints.
  12. Demonstrated proficiency in working with and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel Word and Outlook and database entry.
  13. Ability to travel independently to various locations in a timely manner. Fulfilled by possession of valid State of Hawaii Drivers License (class 3)
    valid comparable drivers license or use of other means of transportation which meets position needs.
  14. Ability to work outside of normal business hours including evenings weekends and/or holidays.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Licensed or eligibility to be licensed to practice as an RN in Hawaii.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and willingness to obtain university certification in relevant regulations including FERPA.
  • Experience in agency staffing or project management.
  • Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience with or knowledge of nursing education programs and field placement activities.
