This position supports the Wyoming Department of Educations (WDE) Special Education Programs divisions requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 2004 (IDEA 2004) in providing monitoring technical assistance (TA) and professional development (PD) to district staff through the managing planning coordination and evaluation of improvement activities and division initiatives which facilitate the improved academic and functional outcomes for students with disabilities.
Preference may be given to individuals with education special education and or leadership experiences. Preference may be given to individuals with knowledge of data systems assessment special education and professional development.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of special education requirements systems and processes.
Relevant experience in developing continuous improvement systems and processes.
Knowledge of monitoring systems and processes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Skills to work with diverse groups and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines.
Skills to facilitate meetings work sessions and other presentations to achieve established outcomes and objectives.
Knowledge of interpersonal communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors Degree (typically in Education)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.
OR
Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however there may be some walking standing bending carrying light items driving an automobile etc.
Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
