Job Summary
Homewood Mountain Resort is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Supervisor to oversee operations at the Big Blue View Bar. The Bar Supervisor will be responsible for leading the bar team ensuring exceptional service maintaining beverage quality and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This role is perfect for someone who has strong leadership skills a passion for mixology and enjoys working in a vibrant and scenic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor the bar staff including bartenders and barbacks providing direction training and constructive feedback to ensure a high level of service.
Bar Operations
Oversee the daily operations of the Big Blue View Bar including managing schedules monitoring staff performance and ensuring efficient service.
Guest Experience
Ensure that all guests receive prompt courteous and attentive service. Address any guest concerns or issues professionally and effectively.
Beverage Quality
Maintain the highest standards in beverage preparation and presentation. Ensure that all drinks are made according to established recipes and quality standards.
Inventory & Stock Management
Manage outlet inventory including ordering supplies monitoring stock levels and conducting regular inventory checks. Ensure the bar is always fully stocked with necessary items.
Compliance
Ensure adherence to all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcohol. This includes verifying guest IDs and ensuring responsible alcohol service practices are followed.
Staff Training
Provide ongoing training to bar staff on mixology customer service and safety procedures. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Sales & Promotions
Work with the Restaurant Manager to create and implement promotional activities to drive bar sales. This may include developing signature cocktails organizing events and promoting happy hour specials.
Financial Management
Oversee cash handling procedures ensuring accuracy in transactions and financial reporting. Balance cash drawers and manage POS systems effectively.
Cleanliness & Maintenance
Ensure the outlet area is clean organized and well-maintained. Coordinate with cleaning and maintenance staff to address any issues promptly.
Event Support
Assist in planning and executing special events private functions and other activities at the Big Blue View Bar.

Language Skills:
Literate and fluent in English.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
Additional language(s) desirable.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral mathematical or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Education and/or Experience:
Prior ski resort or hospitality experience desirable.
