Job Description

Requirement:

You should have:

  • bachelors degree graduation in social science or any other relevant degree
  • two-three years of relevant work experience in the field of maternal and child health
  • experience in breastfeeding counselling is highly desirable
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • the ability to work independently and in team setting
  • good writing skills
  • basic Knowledge of survey and other research designs
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
  • willingness to work in the communities/field sites
  • good computer and report writing skills

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities:

To work with the Principal Investigator / Research Manager/Research Specialist on a research project in order to investigate/established the aims and objectives of the research project. Specific responsibilities will be to:

  • prepare weekly reports and report it to Project supervisors

  • provide and record keeping of project incentive with social mobilizers

  • translation and Urdu typing of project documents

  • maintain all the project data in proper manner

  • plan and conduct awareness sessions in community

  • providing proper counselling to study participants

  • coordinate with the project supervisors to discuss field related activities

  • provide training to the staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study

  • stay highly organize and self-motivated

  • manage field work process to ensure effective use of time

  • visit different households in the communities to ensure the successful completion of the data collection.
