Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs
- Maintain sterile fields and follow strict aseptic techniques
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and in proper working condition
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes
- Perform counts of instruments and supplies pre- and post-surgery to avoid retained surgical items
- Assist in the turnover and setup of the operating room between cases
Required Experience:
- Primary Surgical Experience in:
- Orthopedics (Ortho)
- Neurosurgery (Neuro)
- Transplant
- Cardiac Surgery
Required Certifications:
- National Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA or equivalent)-Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR Certification-Required
