Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Operating Room Technician responsible for providing surgical support in a fast-paced hospital environment. The position requires experience across various surgical specialties and proficiency in aseptic techniques. The technician will work 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week with potential call shifts and weekend work as needed. The role may involve participation in storm/hurricane teams and potential reassignment within the hospital.

Responsibilities:
- Providing surgical support across multiple surgical specialties (General Vascular Neurosurgery Orthopedic Urology EENT OB/GYN Plastics OMF Trauma Dental Pediatric Neonatal and Endoscopy).
- Assisting with organ harvesting procedures.
- Utilizing DaVinci surgical robot.
- Maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to safety protocols.
- Working with a daily caseload of approximately 80 patients in 22 rooms.
- Floating to different units as needed.
- Participating in storm/hurricane teams and responding to catastrophic events or mass casualty situations.
- Potential for reassignment to different units mid-contract.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Operating Room Technician.
- Experience with all ages and inpatient surgical settings.
- Proficiency in Trauma Scrub Aseptic Technique ENT General Ortho Ortho/Spine Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn and Neuro/Spine surgical procedures.
- 3-4 rating in Ophthalmology; strong skills in Vascular/Neuro and Robotics.
- BLS and NBSTA certifications.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Outpatient surgical experience.
- Experience in Level I Trauma centers and teaching hospitals.
- Transplant Bariatrics Ophthalmology Plastics Podiatry Ortho/Total Joints and DaVinci Robot experience.
Special Considerations:
- Potential for 1-2 twelve-hour call shifts every two weeks.
- Weekend shifts as needed.
- Required to float as needed.
- Mandatory participation in storm/hurricane teams.
- Potential for reassignment to different units mid-contract.
- RTO after booking is not allowed. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in shift cancellation.
- Unit orientation varies depending on experience.
- Scrubs are provided.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week.
- Potential for 1-2 twelve-hour call shifts every two weeks.
- Weekend shifts as needed.
- Shift assignments determined by the manager.
