What Youll Be Doing

CIBC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of CCAR to lead the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) program as the bank transitions to a Category IV designation. This individual will play a critical role in establishing governance frameworks controls and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with industry best practices. The Director of CCAR will collaborate with cross-functional teams senior leadership and regulators to build a robust and sustainable CCAR program.

How Youll Succeed

Support the CCAR Program Development and Execution

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of the CCAR Program to design implement and execute the banks Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) framework
  • Assist in the development of stress testing methodologies scenario design and capital planning processes to meet regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of CCAR submissions including FR Y-14A FR Y-14Q and FR Y-14M reports in coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the CCAR program

Governance and Controls

  • Support the Head of the CCAR Program in establishing and maintaining a robust governance framework to oversee CCAR-related activities
  • Implement and monitor controls to ensure the accuracy consistency and integrity of CCAR processes and deliverables
  • Assist in the development and documentation of policies procedures and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations
  • Partner with Risk Finance and other stakeholders to integrate CCAR requirements into the banks broader risk management and operational frameworks

Analytics and Insights

  • Lead the development and execution of advanced analytics to support CCAR stress testing scenario analysis and capital planning
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends risks and opportunities that impact the banks capital adequacy and financial resilience
  • Collaborate with modeling teams to validate and enhance stress testing models ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and business needs
  • Provide actionable insights to senior leadership and the Head of the CCAR Program to inform strategic decision-making
  • Develop dashboards reports and visualizations to communicate key findings and performance metrics to stakeholders

Regulatory Engagement and Compliance

  • Work with the Head of the CCAR Program to prepare materials for regulatory reviews audits and examinations
  • Support responses to regulatory inquiries and ensure alignment with evolving CCAR requirements and expectations
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide updates to the Head of the CCAR Program and other stakeholders on emerging trends and changes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between the CCAR team and other departments including Finance Risk Treasury and IT to ensure alignment and coordination on CCAR-related activities
  • Support the Head of the CCAR Program in fostering collaboration across teams to ensure the successful execution of the CCAR program

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members involved in CCAR-related activities
  • Assist the Head of the CCAR Program in building a high-performing CCAR team and fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement

Who You Are

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Accounting Business Administration or a related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA Masters or PhD) or professional certifications (e.g. CFA FRM CPA) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services with a strong focus on CCAR stress testing capital planning or regulatory reporting
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing governance frameworks and controls in a banking environment
  • Experience working with Category IV banks or institutions undergoing regulatory transitions is highly desirable

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep understanding of CCAR requirements including stress testing methodologies capital planning processes and regulatory reporting (FR Y-14 series)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. banking regulations including the Federal Reserves capital planning and stress testing guidelines
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience engaging with regulators and senior executives
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools financial modeling and risk management systems

At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $200000- $235000 for the market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
