Experience:

have experience with mobile development platforms (iOS/Objective C Android/Java etc.)
have experience creating and integrating APIs

Skills:

have comfort with developing and deploying large scalable systems
have awesome coding skills - we mean it :)
have intimate familiarity with design patterns and database management

Education:

A degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a top school is good to have but a wonderful project list trumps all:
