We are actively seeking a part time PRN (As Needed) Drug Screen Collector at our Bethel Park PA location. The individual will be responsible for providing field testing services and substance testing collections within a 3-hour drive of Bethel Park PA. The geographic and operational areas for which this position is responsible will change proportionally with MMCs service coverage.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS INDIVIDUAL WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COLLECTION OF MALE URINE SAMPLES; Per DOTs49 CFR Part 40 #2 the observermustbe the same gender as the employee.
Additionally the following tasks will be required:
- Collecting Specimens: Gathers urine blood saliva or hair samples from individuals undergoing drug and alcohol testing. The collector must strictly follow established protocols and maintain the chain of custody to prevent tampering or contamination.
- Ensuring Compliance: Adheres to all relevant laws regulations and company policies related to drug testing. Stays updated on changes in testing procedures or guidelines.
- Explaining Procedures: Informs individuals about the testing process explaining what is required of them and answering any questions they may have.
- Maintaining Privacy and Confidentiality: Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of individuals being tested. Respects the individuals rights and dignity throughout the testing process.
- Verifying Identification: Checks and verifies the identification of individuals to ensure accurate sample labeling and tracking.
- Documenting Results: Accurately records all necessary information related to the collection process including the time and date of collection relevant personal details of the individual and the type of test performed.
- Ensuring Proper Storage and Handling: Stores collected samples securely and ensures proper handling and transportation to the testing laboratory.
- Handling Potential Issues: Deals with unexpected situations such as difficulties in providing a sample or identifying the individual correctly in a professional and tactful manner.
- Maintaining Testing Equipment: Regularly calibrates and maintains testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Customer Service: Provides excellent customer service to individuals being tested addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have with courtesy and professionalism.
- Reporting: Collaborates with the laboratory and other relevant parties to report test results accurately and efficiently
- Continuous Improvement: Stays informed about advancements in drug testing technology and methodologies participating in training to enhance knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Training or certification in drug and alcohol testing procedures may be required depending on the employer and local regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols and regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Comfortable working in a healthcare or laboratory environment.
- Basic computer skills for documenting and reporting test results.
- Current ACT 34 114 and 151 clearance checks or the ability to pass these clearance checks
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of related experience (e.g. Phlebotomy Urine Drug Screen BAT PFT)
- 2 years experience in office administration
- 1 year experience in Occupational Medicine
- 1 year experience in urine collection
- Experience in drug and alcohol testing
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. availability; 3 days per week availability as needed.
