• $29.68 per hour starting rate and moving to $31.49 on completion of training
• Full time permanent opportunity (40 hours) 24/7 rotating shift pattern Monday to Sunday including public holidays

He whakamrama m te tranga mahi About the role

As a Gate In Officer based youll be the first point of contact for containers entering and leaving our Wellington terminal. Your role ensures cargo is received checked and documented accurately. Youll also maintain our container inventory making sure records are always up to date and reflect whats on site.

Safety is at the heart of this role. Youll coordinate specialised cargo such as hazardous or refrigerated goods support rail and road operations and help keep our terminal running smoothly. You will be responsible for ensuring that cargo movements are transacted within the requirements specified by NZ Customs MAF and shipping lines and maintaining a container inventory which accurately reflects the containers that are on the site.

We are looking for someone who is reliable safety-focused and keen to work as part of a team. Ideally you will have:

• At least 2 years experience in logistics shipping cargo handling or freight forwarding
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and container management systems
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Knowledge of shipping documentation such as waybills and hazardous goods declarations
• Full clean Class 1 Drivers Licence as you will be driving a vehicle on site
• A commitment to health and safety in the workplace

It would also be great if you bring:

• Forklift or heavy vehicle driving skills and relevant licences
• Knowledge of CTMS Amicus or similar databases
