Safety Assistant Job Description:
The Safety Assistant is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all safety needs for Giltner
Transportation. This role supports the safety departments daily operations ensures DOT compliance
and contributes to proactive risk mitigation

Safety Assistant Responsibilities
Answer phones and assist with general safety-related inquiries
Participate in trainings follow safety procedures and company policies
Conduct basic facility maintenance and cleanings
Coordinate with operations to ensure alignment with safety practices
Provide excellent internal and external customer service
Monitor and analyze safety trends to support proactive coaching
Review SmartDrive & Samsara telematics alerts
Handle driver qualification files MVRs and DOT compliance documentation

Safety Assistant Requirements
Must enjoy and excel in a team environment
Must have an upbeat and positive outlook
Must be able to function well in a physically demanding environment
Must be dependable punctual and detail-oriented
Must be able to complete accurate documentation and reports

Safety Assistant Qualifications
Positive attitude with a proactive mindset
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
Ability to work in a team environment in high-pressure situations
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Effective problem-solving skills
Strong computer proficiency; familiarity with telematics TMS or compliance systems is
a plus.
