About the Role

  • Join the Paediatric & Obsetrics team at a recently refurbished modernised Childrens birthing and postnatal units.
  • Enjoy the benefits of working in a regional hospital experience acute general paediatric and neonatal medicine with a supportive team of consultants senior registrar house officers junior registrars and medical students and nursing staff.
  • Rotorua SCBU is the only level 2 unit staffed with a neonatal nurse practitioner with wealth of neonatal experience and huge support to our junior staff. Your roster will allow for you to enjoy all that Rotorua has to offer with longer summers and shorter winters.

About the Location

  • Our department consists of Consultants with a wide variety of sub-speciality interests from neonatal community paediatrics to mental health and a supportive team of specialist nurses and visiting sub-specialists.
  • Large proportion of our paediatric population in our area we serve is Mori and tamariki and their whanau from low socioeconomic background with complex health needs

About you

You will have:

  • MCNZ registration and or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Councils website at
  • a minimum of two years post qualification experience and a keen interest in providing acute and general medical care to our community.
