About the Position
Our 2026 Internship Program offers a 10-week immersive experience providing in-depth training in Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling plan and contract reviews as well as practical field engineering tasks including structural inspections of California High-Speed Rail (CA HSR) bridges under construction. As a Luster Intern you will gain hands-on experience in key project delivery functions such as quantity take-offs quality control inspections and change order tracking. Intern Program participants include Luster (Employer of Interns) AECOM/Fluor JV (Prime Consulting Firms that Luster works with on the Project) and California High Speed Rail Authority (Client of AECOM/Fluor JV).
We are hiring two Interns majoring in Civil Engineering or Construction Management to join our team. Interns will collaborate closely with experienced Luster Engineers at CA HSR and have the opportunity to engage with representatives from Luster AECOM/Fluor and CA HSR. These engagements may include breakfast or lunch meetings social events and scheduled meetings providing interns with valuable insights into the programs organization and management. Interns will actively engage in team meetings project site visits safety training and special project events. Every effort will be made to fully integrate Interns as valued members of the infrastructure delivery team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to acquire valuable industry experience and develop essential skills in a dynamic supportive environment.
As one of our Field/Office Engineer Interns you will develop critical skills in construction management by learning how our team oversees contractor activities related to cost schedule and budget. You will gain hands-on experience in essential project management areas such as scheduling estimating and monitoring construction progress. This role offers a balanced combination of fieldwork and office tasks allowing you to track and manage construction activities effectively.
Your responsibilities will include conducting design reviews for field construction performing quantity estimations carrying out field inspections and assessing schedules for potential delays. Additionally you will participate in executive and team meetings providing you with valuable insight into the complex dynamic elements that drive successful project delivery.

The interns will be W-2 employees of Luster and will be paid $20/hr.
Internship Dates
The duration of the Luster National Inc. Internship Program is 10 weeks with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm PT.
Start Date: Tuesday May 26 2026
End Date: Friday July 31 2026

Interview Process
The Luster team will conduct interviews with candidates and extend offers to finalists by mid-November 2025 for the May 2026 cohort.
