JOB PURPOSE
This is an exciting and important role where you will be making a significant contribution to BBC Radio 5 Lives long-running business and economics programme Wake Up To Money and to the business news on Radio 4s flagship news programme Today.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Following the domestic and international business news agenda and pitching stories in meetings.
- Identifying potential contributors and booking guests to appear on programmes.
- Writing presenter cues and briefs to the highest standards of accuracy demonstrating in-depth research.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with figures from the business world.
- This is a crucial role which requires fast diligent work under pressure. Its an exciting job working on two prestigious programmes in a friendly supportive high-performing team.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- A proven ability to cut through jargon and tell complex stories in a way that is clear engaging and accessible to a broad audience.
- Strong knowledge of business and economics both in the UK and internationally with a keen eye for the stories that matter.
- A team player who is always willing to help colleagues out.
- The confidence to pitch creative distinctive treatments in editorial meetings and contribute fresh ideas.
- Sharp editorial judgement: a strong instinct for whats needed from an interview a nose for a news-line and the ability to craft incisive revealing questions.
- A rigorous commitment to accuracy always going back to the original sources research and data to ensure our journalism is of the highest standard.
