Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join this team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in ophthalmology. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality eye care to patients and demands a dedication to excellence in clinical practice. This ophthalmology practice values its team and is committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments including obtaining medical histories and performing initial testing.
  • Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure the best patient outcomes.
  • Open and close the diagnostic area; maintain equipment and rooms in working condition.
  • Perform diagnostic tests as per the physicians orders including but not limited to visual field testing OCT testing fundus photography external photography and corneal topography.
  • Timely accurate and efficient transfer of test results into electronic medical records.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly rates are contingent upon skill level and certification ranging from $20 - $33 per hour.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of optometric or ophthalmic experience.
  • Strong knowledge of preliminary testing optics and eye care.
  • Successfully pass a drug and background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Participate in a skills assessment as part of the hiring process.
  • Be available to work Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM as part of the regular schedule.
  • Follow the scheduling provided two weeks in advance unless responding to last-minute changes.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
