DescriptionResideo is currently seeking a Senior RF Engineer to response for designing analyzing and optimizing security intrusion system and smart homes wireless antenna performance using electromagnetic simulation software. The wireless includes WIFI BLE LTE Zwave Zigbee Sub GHz wireless etc. Strong expertise in electromagnetic theory simulation tools and practical problem-solving is required.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop antenna models (e.g. microstrip array pfi antennas) using Antenna simulation tools (CST)
- Perform parametric design and performance simulation based on requirements (frequency band gain radiation pattern polarization etc.)
- Optimize antenna radiation characteristics for target applications (5G LTE WIFI/BLE etc.)
- Analyze simulation results (S-parameters radiation efficiency SAR etc.) and propose design improvements
- Address real-world challenges such as multi-antenna coupling impedance matching and environmental interference
- Collaborate with hardware and RF teams to optimize antenna layout and mechanical integration (e.g. PCB embedding conformal antennas)
- Prepare simulation reports technical documentation and patent proposals.
- RF circuit simulation schematic PCB Layout antenna design matching and simulation
- Assist testing teams in antenna prototype validation and performance benchmarking
- Support intentional radiator certification - FCC/IC/PTCRB CE/RED
- Support the manufacture activities for RF test solution and test limits in mass production
- Continuously to drive new wireless technology and key challenges to help NPI team to delivery more competitive products
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Expertise in antenna simulation/design (entry-level candidates with project/thesis
- experience may be considered)
- Proficiency in at least one EM simulation tool (HFSS/CST/FEKO) and scripting (Python/MATLAB/VBScript)
WE VALUE:
- Good technical understanding of cellular communication system (2G/3G/4G) experience with one or more of the following radio technologies is a plus: WiFi / Bluetooth / Zigbee / SubGHz Radio
- Solid understanding of antenna theory (transmission line theory aperture field analysis array synthesis)
- Experience on product RF Test and FCC/CE agency
- Good understanding and provable proficiency in wireless RF test equipment
- Experience on EM simulation tools such as ADS/HFSS/CST
- Fluent English in reading and writing; Capable of taking conf meeting in English is preferred.
