Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting with activities of daily living collecting patient data and performing basic medical procedures. Previous travel experience is required and a pending Alaska CNA license is acceptable provided the application is submitted. The position offers a variable 4x12 or 3x12 hour shift schedule with guaranteed hours and a company-provided vehicle.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing toileting and ambulation.
- Collect patient data such as vital signs weight and intake/output.
- Assist with specimen collection (urine stool sputum).
- Perform basic medical procedures as directed by a registered nurse (e.g. incentive spirometry pulse oximetry blood sugar checks).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Communicate patient status changes to the nursing staff.
- Perform clerical duties as needed.
- Float to meet facility needs within scope of practice.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current or pending Alaska CNA license (application must be submitted).
- Valid CNA license from another state (if license is pending).
- Verification of completion of a formal CNA training program.
- BLS certification.
- One year of experience in long-term care.
- Previous travel experience.
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (for company vehicle).
- Personal vehicle insurance policy with rental car coverage.

Special Considerations:
- Previous travel experience is mandatory.
- A company vehicle will be provided for use within a 30-mile radius of the facility.
- Shifts are either day or night 4x12 or 3x12 hours and are not rotated unless urgent staffing needs arise.
- The clinician will float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- On-call is not required.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
Scheduling:
- Variable 4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts (travelers choice).
- Shifts are either day or night depending on facility needs.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks.
- One 12-hour shift may be cancelled per two-week period.
