About the Role
As Global Customs and Trade Manager (m/f/d) you will futher develop and rollout the global customs & trade compliant management strategy in close cooperation with internal stakeholders such as legal logistics tax and finance. You will ensure that Sonovas import and export activities comply with relevant international trade laws regulations and treaties. and design and implement robust processes advise international teams and lead initiatives to ensure Sonova operates within a secure efficient and compliant global trade framework.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop implement and oversee Sonovas global trade compliance program
- Ensure all import/ export transactions conform to customs laws security regulations and trade restrictions in all countries of operation and across business units HI/ CHBServe as the global point of contact for customs authorities government agencies and international departments such as logistics and legal
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on trade compliance matters
- Oversee the correct classification of goods valuation and origin determination for customs purposes
- Responsibility for the management and development of the trade compliance team and close cooperation with relevant customs specialists in the regions
- Advise international teams on customs topics (classification valuation rules of origin) and support implementation.
- Monitor regulatory changes worldwide assess trade-related risks and drive necessary actions.
- Lead audits training programs and awareness initiatives to strengthen compliance.
- Manage and coordinate external customs brokers and service providers.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. Compliance Tax Legal) to ensure seamless cross-functional alignment.
Your Profile
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) and at least 7 years of professional experience in customs and export control.
- In-depth knowledge of international customs and trade compliance regulations and trade agreements
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Teams and relevant customs/ERP systems (e.g. AEB and SAP GTS).
- Strong team player with excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Pro-active in implementing programs and making improvements to existing proceses
