Internship Overview
As an FHU intern you will gain practical experience in transportation engineering design with a focus on roadway design. You will work on real projects build technical skills and gain insight into the industry in a supportive environment where you can explore your career interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design analysis and planning of engineering projects
- Participate in fieldwork data collection and analysis
- Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for clients and communities
- Assist in preparing reports presentations and project documentation
- Use industry software including AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer
Requirements
Required
- Undergraduate (junior or higher) or graduate student in Transportation Engineering or a related field
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with engineering software
- Solid mathematics skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Availability for a 3-month internship (approximately June through August)
Preferred
- Coursework in transportation engineering
- Prior experience
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer
Benefits
Starting pay: $23.00 per hour
