Job Description
Are you a visionary leader ready to shape the future of infrastructure delivery in New Zealand Downer is seeking an exceptional Executive General Manager (EGM) to lead our Transport & Infrastructure (T&I) Delivery business into its next era of growth innovation and operational excellence.
About the Role
As EGM Infrastructure Delivery you will be at the helm of one of Downers most strategic portfolios driving commercial success operational performance and market leadership in civil infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity to influence the national infrastructure agenda secure transformative projects and lead a high-performing team through a period of bold growth and change.
You will:
Lead end-to-end delivery of civil infrastructure projects integrating Engineering Technical Services Digital Engineering and New Business.
Shape and execute long-term strategy aligned with Downers transformation agenda.
Champion innovation safety and sustainability across all operations.
Build strategic relationships with clients industry bodies and internal stakeholders.
Drive financial performance governance and market expansion.
Key Focus Areas
Strategic Leadership & Governance: Align business strategy with national priorities and Downers enterprise goals.
Operational Excellence: Deliver high-quality outcomes across diverse infrastructure projects.
Customer & Market Development: Strengthen Downers position as a trusted partner through thought leadership and service innovation.

What Youll Bring
10 years in senior general management ideally within infrastructure engineering construction or maintenance.
Proven success in leading large-scale capital projects and managing complex P&L portfolios.
Tertiary qualifications in engineering business operations or finance.
Gravitas resilience and a performance mindset.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and people leadership capabilities.
